Here in St. Louis we are very fortunate to have a wonderful place called the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House and Education Center.
Founded in 1995, this not-for-profit organization was built and runs completely on private donations and memberships. It is a beautiful facility and at any given time there will be over 1,000 butterflies flying throughout the plants and flowers.
As a sustaining member of the Butterfly House, I spend a lot of time there - especially with my camera. I've literally taken thousands of pictures and am putting here on my site some of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
Because of the time it takes pages to load and pictures to download, I have resized all my photos. If you click on any of the pictures, you will be taken to the original photograph - a larger, more detailed version which you can right-click and save to your hard drive. The originals are anywhere from 250-400k in size, depending on how much detail there is in the photograph. If you would prefer to have one of the larger files emailed to you, just let me know and I will be happy to send it right away.
Have fun going through the pictures and I'd love to hear from you if you have any comments, suggestions or requests!
