MY
LOVE AFFAIR
with digital
photography
(gotcha, didn't I?
hehe)
About
8 years or so ago, I took the plunge into unknown waters (for me) and purchased
my first digital camera. At that time Sony's Mavica FD-7 was heralded as
one of the most innovative and reliable cameras on the market. It wasn't
inexpensive, but I quickly found that it was worth *every* penny I paid for
it! As time passed and technology progressed, I purchased other more powerful
Mavicas. This past year I started using the high-end Sony CD500. The high resolution and the Carl Zeiss optical lens make it a delight to use. I highly recommend it!
In
the past, I've devoted more space on my website to graphics I've produced.
But over the last two years, I've spent a great deal of time taking interesting
and fun photographs. The time has now come to showcase many of them here.
My emphasis in photography reflects my interest in life -- plants, flowers,
animals (both in the wild as well as here at home), and nature in general.
There
are many photographs I took early on that are quite lovely and those, as
well as the high-resolution photos I'm taking today, are displayed. All are
free to download. I only ask that if you choose to bookmark anything on my
site, you mark a page, rather than link to a specific object as they
will be changing often.
Pictures
here are displayed in 400x300 pixels. If you see one you would like to look
at more closely, simply click on the photo and the original will be displayed.
Please note - the higher the resolution of the photograph, the larger in
size it will be. The originals tend to run between 250 and 400k in size.
If you are using a higher speed connection, this won't matter much. But if
you're using a slower modem, some of the pictures will take a little longer
to load. Right-clicking on any of the photographs will give you the option
of "save target as" and you can save them to your hard drive. You will want
to do this with the large photographs rather than the smaller.
As
always, I welcome any comments, suggestions, questions, requests and ideas!
There is an email button at the top of my home page - I'd love to hear from
you.
Enjoy
the site and visit often. I'm having a lot of fun with the new camera and
will be frequently rotating items for everyone to see and download if they
wish.
Thanks for visiting!
