I've never cared much for talking about myself because I've always enjoyed learning about others. But, I'll give it a try. *grin*

As you have already seen by the buttons on the front page of my site, my interests are quite varied (understatement)! hahaha I am the proud mother of two sons in college. I have dogs, cats and a very spoiled Greenwing parrot. I dearly love music and art. Computers have been in my life for many, many years and not only provided me with a wonderful career but have also given me a platform for many of my interests which you'll be able to wander through on this site.

Over the years I've been involved in amateur (ham) radio and subsequently Skywarn, R.A.C.E.S. and emergency operations for St. Louis County (Missouri). As an active Lead Operator and trained in damage assessment and disaster preparedness, things become busy for me when bad weather hits or when any other type of emergency situation arises. St. Louis sits in "tornado alley" so the weather station in my home is an interesting and important piece of equipment. It's also a lot of fun for the kids in the neighborhood. More than once it's been used for a school project! *smile*

Since childhood I've loved photography. One of the things I've not cared for was remembering to take the film to be developed, waiting to get it back and then paying for the pictures. Digital cameras were the answer to my prayers. My first digital camera was one of Sony's first - the Mavica FD-7...and I adored it! Over the years I've tried one or two other manufacturers and always found myself back with Sony. Today I'm using the wonderful Sony MVC-CD500 which uses small CD-RWs for recording pictures. Now I can get hundreds of pictures on one CD - oh my, that's fun!! The photography section of this site will probably be the largest - this is my true hobby and one that I have indulged in for many, many years. I hope you enjoy what you see and feel free to download anything you'd like for yourself.

I guess that's about all I can really say about me. I could probably go on about other things, but it's more fun to let you really learn "about me" by going through my site. I like to think that it reflects more of Shelley than I could tell you here. ;-)
