Gardening for me, is not a hobby. It has been a lovely part of my life since I was quite young.  Throughout my childhood, my mother was deeply involved with the Missouri Botanical Garden and I often spent long, fascinating hours in the greenhouses and gardens watching the groundskeepers and botanists - listening to anything they might be discussing or would teach me. The Climatron was built during that period . It was exciting and controversial. Time has proven the worth of this venture and just recently the Climatron was renovated and continues to be a world-renowned showplace for displaying rare, exotic plants and flowers in natural environments.

Gardening also was a part of our life at home. There were flowerbeds to tend, bulbs to plant, weeds to pull, grass to cut, roses to prune, etc. But it was never a task because mother always made it interesting - each year putting something new and unusual into one or more of the gardens.

Given my love of photography, it naturally led me to taking pictures of flowers, plants, trees and scenery. A few years ago we moved into the house we live in now. It's located high on a hill, in an area that's very difficult to garden...in fact, our house basically sits on boulders! But once the gardens establish, they grow beautifully.

I hope you like the pictures I have displayed. Each one is shown in a 400x300 pixel format. By clicking on the picture you will be taken to the original photograph which is larger and more detailed.
